Three things are necessary if you want to have a Google Pay account:
1. You must have a bank account. 2. Your mobile number must be linked with your account number. 3. You must have an ATM or Debit card.
So, Are you ready to open your 'Google Pay account'? Here are the steps you need to follow to open a Google pay account.
Steps: How to open a Google pay account
Step 1: Open the Google play, store and download the 'Google Pay app'Step 2: Then select your preferred language and tap on the arrow (Placed in the right corner)Step 3:Enter your phone number registered with the bank account (Allow your SMS, contacts and location)Step 4: After that, it will automatically detect your email id, click on 'Continue'Step 5: A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your mobile number, let the app access it manually.Step 5: After that, you have to choose the screen lock or you can create a Google pin. Select the option and click on 'Continue'.Step 6: Set up your Google screen lock or pin.
Your Google Pay account has been created. Now, you have to link your bank account so that you can transfer money easily.
Steps how you can add a bank account in Google Pay
Step 1: After completing the initial steps to open the app, tap on your name at the top of the screen.Step 2: A new page will appear asking you to 'Add Bank Account,' tap on it.Step 3: Numerous options will be displayed, choose your 'Bank name' from the list.Step 4: After selecting a bank, a pop-up will appear, tap 'Allow'.Step 5: Another pop-up will appear showing the account link, click 'Ok'.Step 6: A verification SMS will be sent; after that, your mobile number will be verified and after that your account. It is totally an automated process.Step 7: After verification, a new page will be displayed. Now tap on 'Enter UPI PIN' to link the New Bank account.Step 7: As you enter the UPI PIN, the bank account would be linked to the Google Pay app.
If you have your UPI PIN, you can use that as well:
Click on 'Don't know your UPI PIN?'After that, you have to enter your last 6 digits of your ATM or debit card with expiry date.After that, tap on an arrow, on the right corner. The OTP will be sent to your number.Now you have to enter your ATM pin and at last, tap on the correct sign.Now you have to set your UPI PIN.You will get a text message that your UPI PIN has been set.
Go to Bank Account section, and tap on the " Add New Bank " button. Select the bank which you want to link withPhonePe from the list of available banks. PhonePe will fetch your account details in an instant and will link it to your account. proceed to set up UPI PIN by tapping on the set UPI PIN button.
